Wednesday Wishes

Hunting for books is one of my favorite things. Finding a new title is my equivalent of "getting rich." Whether the titles been around for a while, brand spanking new, or just not that common Wednesday Wishes is here for me to share them with you.

The Forest of Adventures (Knight Trilogy)The Forest of Adventures (Knight Trilogy #1) by Katie M. John

For seventeen year old Mina Singer, falling in love with an Arthurian Knight on a white horse was never part of the plan - especially being that she's an ordinary college girl living in the twenty first century. As Mina finds herself catapulted into a land she believed only existed in the bedtime stories of her childhood, she soon discovers that Fairyland is not quite as innocent as she imagined.

The question is...who will come out alive?

Haunting, beautiful and sexy, The Forest of Adventures, is a dark romantic quest into the land of true and forbidden love.

Haven't we all dreamed of falling with an Arthurian knight?

Blood and Sunlight: A Maryland Vampire StoryBlood and Sunlight: A Maryland Vampire Story by Jamie Wasserman, Diana Luciana Barbu

Melanie would love to believe in fairytales. She'd love, in fact, to believe in anything. The twenty-three-year-old college dropout is stuck - stuck in a dead-end waitress job, stuck in her hometown of Ellicott City, Maryland, and stuck with a boyfriend who likes to play dress-up as a vampire. Vampires. Her world and her reality are turned upside down when she encounters the real thing. Along the way, she meets Lucas, the would-be vampire slayer, his father the sheriff, and ultimately the vampire himself. Melanie learns that fairytales can come true, and evil isn't always where you expect to find it.

This has vampire in the title, do you need more. Just joking. The cover is kind of standard, but I always thing vampire "fans" meeting the real thing is kind of interesting.

Into the ShadowsInto the Shadows by Karly Kirkpatrick Paivi Anderson has it all: friends, a spot on the varsity basketball team, wonderful parents, and quite possibly, her first boyfriend. It was everything a freshman in high school could ask for. Her perfect life begins to crumble when she discovers her name on a list distributed by a power-hungry presidential candidate. How could anyone think of Paivi as an Enemy of the State? Could it be because of her special powers? No one was supposed to know about them, but the mysterious messages in her tater tots say otherwise. In INTO THE SHADOWS, Paivi quickly learns who her friends are and is forced into a reality she didn't see coming.

This one sounds kind of standard, but you never know.

Living Dead GirlLiving Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott

Once upon a time, I was a little girl who disappeared. Once upon a time, my name was not Alice. Once upon a time, I didn’t know how lucky I was.

When Alice was ten, Ray took her away from her family, her friends her life. She learned to give up all power, to endure all pain. She waited for the nightmare to be over. Now Alice is fifteen and Ray still has her, but he speaks more and more of her death. He does not know it is what she longs for. She does not know he has something more terrifying than death in mind for her. This is Alice’s story. It is one you have never heard, and one you will never, ever forget.

I've been eyeballing this book for a while, but since it's outside of my genre I've shied away. Personally I think this is a book that everyone should read, so of course I have to add it to my list.

The Moon RidersThe Moon Riders by Theresa Tomlinson

An epic novel about the Amazon women and the part they played in the battle for Troy

When a young Amazon woman, Myrina, becomes one of the warrior priestesses known as the Moon Riders, she is well prepared to perform their sacred dances, and hunt and fight when necessary. But the Moon Riders, who inhabit the plains of Troy, are drawn into the troubles of the city when they help Agamemnon’s daughter, Iphigenia, escape from the sacrifice planned for her by her father. Hereafter, the Moon Riders are drawn into the siege and the ensuing battle.

I've been searching for that perfect Amazon Woman read, I haven't found it yet. So hopefully this one will be it.

Night Shift (Jill Kismet, #1)Night Shift (Jill Kismet #1) by Lilith Saintcrow

Not everyone can take on the things that go bump in the night.

Not everyone tries.

But Jill Kismet is not just anyone.

She's a Hunter, trained by the best - and in over her head.

Welcome to the night shift...

The series by this author usually tend to die out for me. I was going to wait to read her YA books and see how they were, but a very picky reader recomended them to me so they're moving up on my Wish List.

The UndyingThe Undying by Ronnell D. Porter
"The end was nothing like any one of us could have imagined it would be. Humans, with their obsession with the ultimate and inevitable conclusion of their world, had thought through every destructive doomsday scenario to be imagined. Every scenario but the right one. The end was not quick. The earth was not destroyed by some rogue asteroid, or a collision with a vigilante planet. It was not blasted away by the antimatter of a distant galaxy, and it definitely was not the work of a virus or plague. The end of the world was a slow and gradual death for most of the living creatures on the face of the earth. The aftermath of man’s recklessness left the wounded planet defenseless as its shadows consumed the skies and devoured its atmosphere. It took many lifetimes to watch mother Earth breathe her last, and with her vanished our only source of replenishment. We were forced to starve for eternity. We the immortal, we the undying." Volume 1. THE UNDYING is the tale of Wilhelmina Shepherd's life, from a young, innocent, wild girl growing up in Fremont, LA, to the world's most ruthless murderess. A tragic romance that spans through waging demonic wars to the extinction of mankind and beyond, The Undying is the tale of one demon's life until the end of the world.

The cover design looks amazing, plus the description sounds spot on unique.

Desire (Desire #1)Desire (Desire #1) by Kailin Gow

Not sure what this one is about, maybe fairies?? Hopefully a description will be up soon.

The DonnaThe Donna by Emma Howard

"Britte feels lost when her recent behavior places her into training for the Donna profession. Though her leaders are polite, they are vague and evasive, and Britte is sure they are hiding something. But once Britte learns their secret, her world is turned upside-down."

All right, I'm a cover whore. The cover has totally sucked me in, the description is a little (a lot) disappointing.
