Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Previous book(s) in series:

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)

crown-of-midnight Series: Throne of glass, book 2

Add it: Goodreads| Amazon
Genre: (Epic) Fantasy YA

Shera’s thoughts:

Thank you!! What a step up from the horrible averageness of the last cover. Way to go. Though if that is supposed to be the main character . . . what’s with the sudden change in her appearance.

Cursed by S.J. Harper

Previous book(s) in series:
N/A

Cursed Series: Fallen Sirens, book 1

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Urban Fantasy

Shera’s thoughts:

Apparently “S.J. Harper is the pseudonym for the writing team of authors Jeanne C. Stein and Samantha Sommersby”, I very cool team up if you ask me.

Have to be honest the book sounds amazing, but the cover is kind of average. Good standard UF cover.

Dead Set by Richard Kadrey

Previous book(s) in series:
N/A

Dead Set Series: N/A

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Urban Fantasy

Shera’s thoughts:

The typography is really neat in its concept. But it doesn’t fit. The typography or the back ground image needs to be changed. To me they just really clash.

Deception Cove by Jayne Castle

Previous book(s) in series:

The Lost Night (Rainshadow, #1)(Harmony, #9)

Deception Cove Series: Rainshadow, book 2 (Harmony, book 10)

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Shera’s thoughts:

I will never get why authors write as “fill in blank” and than they put their names on the books anyway.

Also Why is the pseudonym is the biggest thing on the cover. You have to hunt down the title.

This cover clearly matches the last book, but I still don’t like them.

Dragon Mine by Jaime Rush

Previous book(s) in series:
N/A

dragon-mine Series: The Hidden, book 0.5

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Shera’s thoughts:

The cut off above the nose thing is escalating in popularity. It’s a nice cover attempt to bring us a different kind of man candy! (You know thinking with the shirt on.)

Fire & Ash by Jonathan Maberry

Previous book(s) in series:

Rot and Ruin (Benny Imura, #1)Dust and Decay (Benny Imura, #2)Flesh and Bone (Benny Imura, #3)

Fire & Ash Series: Benny Imura, book 4

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal YA

Shera’s thoughts:

Fits the series nicely. Never been a fan of these covers, but I love the aggression between the two.

First Bite by Dani Harper

Previous book(s) in series:
N/A

first-bite Series: Dark Wolf, book 1

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Shera’s thoughts:

I know it’s cheesy, but it’s a campiness that I’ve come to enjoy for my PNR titles.

Gotta love a woman in black.

Gossamer Wing by Delphine Dryden

Previous book(s) in series:
N/A

Gossamer Wing Series: Steam and Seduction, book 1

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Steampunk

Shera’s thoughts:

There aren’t to many elements that pop out and scream Steampunk, but I still love it regardless. It’s like a subtle steampunk vibe.

He looks like the VD Damon and the gears on the hat is a really nice touch.

Grave Visions by Kalayna Price

Previous book(s) in series:

Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1)Grave Dance (Alex Craft, #2)Grave Memory (Alex Craft, #3)

Grave_visions Series: Alex Craft, book 4

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Urban Fantasy

Shera’s thoughts:

This top looks a lot like the last one, I think one is supposed to be purple and the other blue?

Still cool covers, like the magic coming out of her hand.

Illusion by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Previous book(s) in series:

Infinity (Chronicles of Nick, #1)Invincible (Chronicles of Nick, #2)Infamous (Chronicles of Nick, #3)Inferno (Chronicles of Nick, #4)

Illusion Series: Chronicles of Nick, book 3

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal YA

Shera’s thoughts:

Another cool cover! The keep getting better and better.

Pushed by Corrine Jackson

Previous book(s) in series:

Touched (Sense Thieves, #1)

pushed Series: Sense Thieves, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal YA

Shera’s thoughts:

Nope. I like what they are trying to do here, but it just fails for me.

Sentinel by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Previous book(s) in series:

Daimon (Covenant, #0.5)Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)Pure (Covenant, #2)
Deity (Covenant, #3)Elixir (Covenant, #3.5)Apollyon (Covenant, #4)

Sentinel Series: Covenant, book 5

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal YA

Shera’s thoughts:

I love the covers for this series. But I feel like this cover is more of an anthology one. They pulled out all the stops for the two anthology covers there, but they should have saved those for “actual” books.

Shadow’s Curse by Alexa Egan

Previous book(s) in series:

Demon's Curse (Imnada Brotherhood, #1)

shadows-curse Series: Imnada Brotherhood, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Shera’s thoughts:

I know I shouldn’t like these ones . . . but grrrrrrrrrrrr!! Yes please!! You can take a stab at me anytime.

*cough* Yeah, sexy.

Spirits From Beyond by Simon R. Green

Previous book(s) in series:

Ghost Of A Chance (Ghostfinders, #1)Ghost Of A Smile (Ghostfinders, #2)Ghost of a Dream (Ghostfinders, #3)

Spirits From Beyond Series: Ghostfinders, book 4

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: N/A

Shera’s thoughts:

I’ll admit I thought the female would get to be front and center again, but other than that I like the cover.

Not as dramatic and flashy looking as the over ones, but Green scores another great cover.

Spy’s Honor by Amy Raby

Previous book(s) in series:

Assassin's Gambit (Hearts and Thrones, #1)

spys-honor Series: Hearts and Thrones, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Romantic Fantasy

Shera’s thoughts:

Ahhhh! I love it. These covers are so sexy and lethal at the same time. I really need to buy the first book.

(A small—BIG—part of me really wants that white horse to be a unicorn.)
