Alex, a rare white panther, is desperate to avoid her family and their expectations. Hundreds of years of tradition force her to run to the newly appointed Queen only to find her gone. Hopelessness causes her to invoke the right of Hospitality and everything that goes with it, including the mouthwatering lupine cowboy with talented hands. When he whispers her name she’s tempted to submit as long as he meets her every desire.

Clint, the beta wolf of the Koning Clan, is tired of troublesome females walking through the doors of Gryph’s Bar. The last one changed history. Now, a small, seductive feline grates on his nerves and beckons his primitive instincts. Even though she’s trouble, her taste drives him to addiction. Law dictates he must protect her, but the way she calls to his beast may lead to their undoing. As a male with no knowledge of his past how can they have a future?(

Review:

***Copy received for an honest review by author.***

This was a step up from the last one. Not quite as jumpy, and the writing was a bit more clean. Heck, I even laughed more! Escaping Love relies heavily on tropes though, and this does little to flesh out Smith's skill. The male love interest, Clint, magically comes into money . . . by a timely coincidence. There also a lot of sexual phrases that were present from the last book, I found it a bit tacky.

My biggest issue was that just like the first book the males think (and I think even the women state it at some point) that the cure for what they're feeling is to have sex once and get it out of their system. And why is it that if she wants to have sex she refers to herself as a slut? Why? Is it wrong for a woman to have sexual desires and want to act on them. Or to act on them? No, it isn't. And I don't like that they have to call themselves sluts.

Alex is coming from sexist society yet has no issue with Clint buying her. Which was the fate she wanted to avoid. Yes, I understand the only other way to get a hold of her would be to have some kind of uprising or something. It just seemed like Alex should have been slightly offended. Just like the last book some sexist tropes are the motivator for the story and I just wish Smith would step outside of that for the next book.

In the end I don't think these are finished enough to spend money on. Smith still needs to put more work into it before I'd call it a book. World building!

Sexual Content: Sex scenes, sexual humor, and some evil sexual intentions.

1/5- I couldn't finish it or wish I hadn't
