SEAL Wolf Hunting by Terry Spear

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

SEAL-Wolf-Hunting Series: Heart of the Wolf, book 16

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Shera’s thoughts:

Well, it’s better then some of the other covers. I do like that the guy has a crouched gun pose, because that’s normally reserved for the ladies in the paranormal genres.

Smoke on the Water by Lori Handeland

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

Smoke-on-the-Water Series: Sisters of the Craft, book 3

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Shera’s thoughts:

At first glance I really enjoy this cover. Well the background, typography, and such. Unlike the previous two covers I do not like the girl’s head. It’s so abrupt and does not mesh well with the cover.

The other girls blended in well, while managing to pop out. This girl just looks really awkward. Maybe it’s the way the hair is covering her neck and her shoulder doesn’t stand out.

Disembodied head anyone? Also what’s with that hair on the side that’s read? Is it supposed to be part of another girl on a different cover? Weird.

Tell the Wind and Fire by Sarah Rees Brennan

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

tell-the-wind-and-fire Series: N/A

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Young Adult

Shera’s thoughts:

No. No. Why on earth is the “by Sarah Rees Brennan” line titled? No. This whole thing is ugly, but that could have been one unpleasant thing they could have fixed.

The Isle of the Lost by Melissa De La Cruz

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

The Isle of the Lost Series: The Descendants, book 1

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Fantasy Young Adult

Shera’s thoughts:

First off, clever placement of the Disney D. It clues readers in right away that this book is about those villains.

Overall the cover is cool! I love all the elements, and—yes—I am quite in love with the typography.

The Clockwork Crown by Beth Cato

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

The-Clockwork-Crown Series: Clockwork Dagger Duology, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Steampunk

Shera’s thoughts:

These covers scream High Fantasy to me. Nothing jumps out, or remotely hints, at steampunk being the genre.

Overall I enjoy it, but just like the last cover there is something rough about the cover that makes it tacky.

The Clouded Sky by Megan Crewe

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

The-Clouded-Sky Series: Earth & Sky, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Young Adult Sci-Fi

Shera’s thoughts:

Oooooo, pretty. I really enjoyed the first book’s cover, but this is just gorgeous.

There’s no doubt both books are from the same series. Me likey these new sci-fi covers coming out for YA.

The Copper Gauntlet by Holly Black & Cassandra Clare

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

the-copper-guntlet Series: Magisterium, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Middle Grade

Shera’s thoughts:

Oooo, I like this new cover compare the first.

There’s to things I’ve always liked about Middle Grade book covers—when done right—the bright colors and loads of images. While not every cover has both, there’s always one or the other.

And overall pleasant colors.

Tower of Thorns by Juliet Marillier

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

tower-of-thorns Series: Blackthorn & Grim, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Young Adult High Fantasy

Shera’s thoughts:

So this is love! Hmmm-mmm!

Gosh this cover has such wonderful art! So beautiful!! Love everything about it! Look at the typography design on the T in Thorns!

Undead and Unforgiven by Mary Janice Davidson

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

Undead-and-Unforgiven Series: Undead (formally known as Queen Betsy), book 14

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Shera’s thoughts:

Fits the new cover style well, and I really like the way the mikes look. However, I’m still not a fan of the authors name over powering the title of the book.

Ungodly by Kendare Blake

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

ungodly Series: Goddess War, book 3

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Young Adult

Shera’s thoughts:

Ooooo! I just love the touch of glowing lights and feathers. There’s something off about the girls on the cover. Especially the blondes’ face.

Veiled by Benedict Jacka

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

veiled Series: Alex Verus, book 6

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Urban Fantasy

Shera’s thoughts:

I knew green was next!! Boom! Love how each cover matches so well and that city escapes are indeed so cool!

Waking the Dragon by Juliette Cross

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

waking-the-dragon Series: Vale of Stars, book 1

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Shera’s thoughts:

No. No. Book Gods no.

Wish Bound by J.C. Nelson

Previous book(s) in series:

Goodreads | Amazon

wish-bound Series: Grimm Agency, book 3

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon

Shera’s thoughts:

Wolf Trouble by Paige Tyler

Wolf Trouble Series: SWAT, book 2

Add it: Goodreads | Amazon

Shera’s thoughts:

My what big guns he has!

Yes! I went there. Yes! What another great cover for the series. I love that these guys look so badass. Oh, and no tacky floating wolf or overlay.
